And then there was Vegas
Hello Las Vegas!
I was fortunate enough to venture out to WPPI 2012 a few weeks ago to enjoy being taught by fellow photographers. WPPI is an amazing experience because it is a gathering of wedding and portrait photographers from all over the country (and world!).
Las Vegas has a soft spot in my heart; my husband and I honeymooned there in 2009. We love good food and good shows, which makes Las Vegas one of our favorite destinations.
I’d be happy to share the wealth of knowledge I took in while I attended WPPI, but I sat in on over 15 different seminars on a variety of topics and it would take forever to gift my knowledge to you. It’s also pretty geeky. The trade show had over 300 different booths of exhibitors with albums, editing software, new technology, and more. My goal before WPPI 2013 is to weave the knowledge I gained into my work. It’s all for you guys! Now, let me share some pictures from my trip.
One of my favorite things to do in Vegas is to explore and take in the uniqueness of each casino. Last time I was in Las Vegas was July 2009, and it was over 110 degrees in the shade. February in Las Vegas is a bit different; the temperature only reaching into the 70’s a few days.
The follow are some pictures I took while sitting in seminars or at the trade show (or de-stressing after the fact). You can thank my iPhone for the fantastic quality of these 7 photos.
Let’s see. I took in a few shows while I was out in Nevada. I highly recommend Penn & Teller, Zumanity, the Crazy Horse, and Absinthe. I’ve seen many many shows out there, but these handful were some of my favorites from this trip out there.
The scenery in Las Vegas is good, but the food? Ah, the food is delicious. I’ve been on a major margarita kick lately, so most places where I enjoyed dinner, I also enjoyed a margarita.
If you haven’t been to Las Vegas, I highly recommend visiting. Contrary to popular belief, It is more than gambling. It’s a completely different way of life! I love the neon glow of the city… Viva Las Vegas!
Cheers! -Jen
