Jaya & Matt’s Wedding Reception Highlights

Let me tell you, there are receptions, and then there are receptions.  In the case of Matt and Jaya, their receptions definitely fell into the latter.

There are many words which come to mind when describing their Camelback Resort reception. However the word which I feel describes their reception the best is, AWESOME.  I don’t mean the version of the word commonly overused in today’s lexicon.  I mean the truest sense of the word, where their reception truly was awe inspiring.  Like always though, I am getting ahead of myself.

After traveling back from the top of the mountain, Matt and Jaya retired back to their room to change into their evening outfits.  We’d like to compliment the talented Kirsten Bonilla of Shear Brilliance Salon and makeup done by Fawn Monique for the final transformation of the evening. This time Matt was wearing a smartly custom tailored suit by Indochino.  Jaya slid into a gorgeous gilded skirt and top designed by Shantanu & Nikhil.  Her feet sparkled with a pair of Badgley Mishka heels to start the evening and first look. As you will see, the newlyweds make one beautiful couple. Later in the evening they became a beautiful couple with matching Chucks! The newlyweds headed to the ballroom to do their “final” “first look” and we quickly jumped right into capturing the rock stars which are Matt and Jaya

As we were running around on the tops of mountains post-ceremony and photographing the bride and groom getting ready, the ballroom was being altered. The entire Camelback Resort ceremony space was being transformed into the reception venue.  Guided by the expert hands of Shayosa Events and designed by Elegant Affairs the room was transformed from a warm and stylish ceremony space and stage into a radiant and opulent ballroom.  The room went through a complete metamorphosis transitioning from one fabulous space into a breathtaking and colorful ballroom dripping in class and sophistication.  Words don’t do the room justice, so I recommend looking at the pictures to truly understand the room.

We got excited when Jaya and Matt asked to do one of our most favorite things; photograph them in their ballroom.  With so much texture, color, and depth ballrooms makes for amazing photos (and video – we can’t wait to see what Ambrosial Films captured in the Camelback Resort ballroom as we took photos). My favorite photo of the newlyweds is the Beyonce and Jay Z inspired snap we took – probably because Jaya was so excited to take this picture! Check our her ear to ear grin!

After a fun and energetic photos session, it was time for the festivities to begin.  All 450 guests funneled into the Camelback Resort ballroom. The night was filled with heart felt speeches, emotional dances, and wonderful performances by Jaya and Matt’s friends and family. The newlyweds completed the traditional cake cut of Merry’s Custom Cakes Bakery and the food from Mogul Catering was served. Now, it was time for the dance party to begin. The room was seriously danced and rocked to pieces by DJ Suhel (can we say, whoa, what a parTAY!). Jaya and her brother Ru surprised everyone with a flashmob dance!
