Nicole & Giovanni’s Wedding Day Highlights

The night ended in the Cescaphe Ballroom with the beautiful bride with a microphone in hand serenading her husband. A grin stretched from ear to ear on his face while the guests and venders watched with mouths dropped. Her voice is perfect.

I adore these two together. Really I think they make the best ying to his yang or peanut butter to jelly – however you pair them, they come out great together. The moment I knew it was going to be a great day was when I stepped foot in the church and saw Giovanni for the first time on their wedding day. He was anxious and nervous and just smiling. He was so excited to see his bride walk down the aisle.

Nicole had a relatively calm morning. She got ready at the Le Meridien in Philadelphia. Hair by Ariel Katrina Hair and makeup by Ursula’s About Phace got the ladies of the bridal party all dolled up for the big day. After Beautiful Blooms delivered the bouquets to the room, Nicole took her phone and practiced singing the song she was dedicated to her groom at the end of the night. It was quite picturesque – her sexy sophisticated Pnina Tornai gown, purchased from Kleinfeld Bridals, hung from the window and created a perfect backdrop in which Nicole practiced her song. The bridal suite quieted down as she practiced and Nicole swore there would be no way she’d be able to sing the entire song at the Cescaphe Ballroom reception!

Giovanni’s morning had quite a few more people involved – he got ready for the wedding at his parent’s house. He was 120% surrounded by family and friends as he put on his tux from Smith’s Black Tie. He looked quite sharp in his tux – featuring navy as the new black. His brothers helped get his bow-tie tied and the gentlemen shared a toast of Poli Miele. Before they knew it, it was time to head to the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord for the ceremony.

Giovanni stood (almost) patiently at the head of the aisle at the church. Nicole and her eight bridesmaids passed the time in the Celebrations Limo with a quick sip of champagne before she was whisked into the church and right down the aisle into the arms of her almost husband. The catholic ceremony lasted approximately an hour, and then we did a handful of family photos inside the gorgeous church before we headed off to the Philadelphia Museum of Art for some creative photos.

Did we mention we were in the middle of the August heatwave? After we finished photos at the top of the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps (Giovanni loves the Philadelphia skyline!), the bridesmaids and groomsmen celebrated with some ice cream from a passing by ice cream truck. Temperatures soared near 98 degrees (who knows what the “real feel” temp turned out to be), so we called it a day for outside photos and headed early to Cescaphe Ballroom to photograph inside the historic building. Did you know this venue used to be a 1920’s movie theatre?

We arrived to Cescaphe Ballroom just in time to catch the end of a rehearsal for Sid Miller Dance Band – after hearing just the tail end of rehearsal, we knew it was going to be an awesome dance party for the rest of the night! I lost count for the number of members, but there were at least 12 people on stage (13 if you added in Nicole’s voice at the end of the night!). We finished photos in the front bar with the bridal party, then snuck into the main ballroom with Nicole and Giovanni for some photos on their floor to ceiling bar (it has to be at least 3-stories tall!).

Scott and Kelsey from 4LC Studios must have some majorly awesome dancing and party footage from this wedding. The guests danced the night away inside the ballroom at Cescaphe to the live music. The toasts from the best men and maids of honor and the father of the bride brought much applause to the room. So many beautiful words shared. Nicole and Giovanni, thank you so much for having us as your photographers for your wedding day! We are so happy for the two of you!
