Kaitlin & Matt’s Wedding Day Highlights

Sympatico! That is the word that instantly comes to mind when I think of Matt and Kaitlin.

Mountain Springs Lake Resort is located down a winding roadway. It’s tucked away so perfectly that you may not even know it’s there. It is perfect for a private woodsy wedding. Well, I think so, and Kaitlin and Matt think so too!

The entire morning was geared towards getting the wife-to-be and husband-to-be ready for their first look. We decided to do their first look outside even with the chance of rain. Location was selected to be the site of their ceremony. The pair had written love notes to each other and wanted to share those before seeing each other. We stood them back to back and they held hands as they poured over the pages of each others words. They then took a step apart, turned around and saw each other for the first time on their wedding day.

It’s safe to say that Matt’s jaw dropped. Kaitlin was a vision. Her gown, from Bridals by Sandra, was covered in appliqués and had a soft fabric that fluttered in the wind. She had a faux flower crown in her hair and the veil tucked neatly underneath. Her shoes were her something old, and the jewelry was a mix match of pieces that were borrowed or already in her collection. Alisha Nycole Make Up Artistry and Nicole Morton from Boutique Hair and Nails had given Kaitlin her most perfect bridal look. Her look was completed with her bouquet from Allium Floral – I’m not sure how they pieced together so many colors and types of flowers, but wow, it was perfect.

Kaitlin and Matt spent almost two hours alone taking bridal portraits – it’s a dream for us here at Uncorked Studios to have that much time with the bride and groom on a wedding day! The grounds at Mountain Springs Lake Resort just beg to be photographed – so many colors and textures and well, nature! Both Kaitlin and Matt love the wooded areas near the Lodge – but honestly, I really think this pair could be anywhere and have their photos taken. So much natural chemistry. Even when it started to “spritz” a teeny tiny bit during their first look, the duo popped up a red umbrella and just cuddled under it for a few moments as the showers passed.

Bridal party photos and family photos were super fun! It’s clear this large group that surrounded Kaitlin and Matt on their wedding day is a tight-knit group of people. So much love and positive energy. When it came time for the ceremony, Matt’s father, Kermit Burley, performed the ceremony (and his mom performed a song for the newly-weds!). It was short, sweet, and to the point – this group was ready to have a few drinks, relax, and party!

The ballroom at the Lodge was a vision. The table decor popped from all the floral colors and elements that Kaitlin had designed together. The guest favors were by Josh Early Candies and sat in multi colored bags at each guest table setting. Kaitlin’s uncle, Brian Roberson, has setup a homemade Photo Booth for guests to make use of during the reception at Mountain Springs Lake Resort. DJ Ron Stangl kept the night moving along and had the dance floor open for guests early in the night.

Such a beautiful day for the newlyweds. Kaitlin and Matt, always keep that amazing twinkle in your eyes when you look at each other, that is something so special that cannot be taught! Congratulations from all of us at Uncorked Studios!
