Kyle & Holly’s Wedding | May 5, 2012 | Boyertown & Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania
Holly and Kyle tied the knot on May 5, 2012. They chose to celebrate at both of their churches by holding the ceremony at one and the reception at the other. Though the day began with fog and overcast skies, we found ourselves with a perfect sunny afternoon for portraits. I don’t think this pair could have wished for better wedding day weather.
It was a day full of emotion. I’ve known Holly for at least two (maybe even three!) years now, and it has been an amazing journey to watch her fall in love with Kyle. It only seems fitting that there were quite a few happy tears shed over the day by Holly, Kyle, and many family members (I’m pretty sure I shed a few myself). Holly has graciously shared some of her own words which you will find throughout this post. Congratulations once again!

The best part of my wedding day was that we got married.
Our wedding was awesome. Very chill; very us. All our vendors were people we knew, so it was very personal.
I actually started the planning process with the color of the bridesmaids dresses. The color was marine blue, and it was in the spring, so it was a very springy wedding.
Why did you choose Uncorked Studios?
Jen and Travis are good friends of mine. I had them do our engagement photos and loved them, so we booked them for our wedding too! So happy we did!
What do you want to always remember from your wedding day?
I always want to remember the way my husband looked at me and cried as I walked down the isle.
After looking at your photos and talking to people, did anything happen at your wedding that you are just now realizing?
There’s a lot of stuff that was going on while we were getting ready, and waiting to walk down the isle that was happening, that I was too preoccupied to see. My sister (my maid of honor), who hadn’t been able to walk in about 8 months, gave away her crutches right before she walked down the isle. Since I had to stay back, I couldn’t see her until I saw the pictures. 🙂
What was the most unique moment?
The most unique moment in our wedding is when my pastor pulled out balloon animal in the middle of the ceremony to symbolize intertwining us two with God. It was really neat.
The most fun moment was that instead of kissing when people tap their glasses, we put names of couples in a cup, and picked out names from there every time our guests tapped their glasses. Then they would have to get up on stage and kiss, and then we would have to imitate their kiss. That was fun for both us and the guests.
Did you splurge on anything that in retrospect was worth every penny?
My husband and I each got to pick one thing to splurge on, since our wedding was on a pretty strict budget. Since I’m a photographer myself, I wanted amazing photos, so I picked our photographers. In retrospect, they were worth way more than what we spent on them. Soooo happy with my choice!!
My husband, being a guy, picked the honeymoon to splurge on. We heard many of our friends getting married and going to the Poconos or what not for their honeymoon, and actually coming back early! We went to Negril, Jamaica at an all inclusive resort. Best week of my life.
“IF I only I knew!” what is one piece of advise you would give to brides planning their wedding day?
Don’t freak about anything beforehand. If something is not perfect, nobody knows or cares. And on your wedding day, either do you because you’re too wrapped up being with your new husband! But since there are times that you forget this advise, have someone or preferably many people helping with set up for the locations. Setting up everything with very little help can get stressful, and takes a lot longer. See if some of your bridesmaids will take off work to help you out.
Can’t get enough of this duo? Check out some of their past sessions!
