Lady K booked a boudoir session to surprise her fiancé for Valentine’s Day.
Lady K was kind enough to allow me to share a few of her photos here on my blog. More importantly, she spent some time writing up some answers describing her experience at the Loews Hotel a couple weeks ago.
It was a cold January morning when I photographed Lady K, but she was brave enough to climb up into the window at the hotel. What a spectacular view (in more ways than one)!
Why did you decide to do a boudoir photo session?
A friend of both mine and Jen’s told me about Uncorked Studios’ Valentine’s Day promotion. This friend encouraged me to sign up for a session, and after asking my fiancé if this was something that would interest him, I decided to go for it.
Why did you choose Uncorked Studios?
Jen took some pictures at a mutual friend’s wedding, and they turned out amazingly, so I knew that Jen would do a great job for me, too.
How did you prepare for the session?
I realized that I didn’t have any outfits that I considered to be sexy enough for a boudoir photo shoot, so I went to Victoria’s Secret and spent more than I should have.
Who are your boudoir photos for?
My photos are for my fiancé – we’re actually going to be apart on Valentine’s Day, so I figured the pictures would be perfect gift this year.
How was the experience?
It was great! Jen did an amazing job of making me feel comfortable and confident.
How do you feel about your images?
I love my pictures. I especially loved going through them with my fiancé and watching his jaw drop.
How did you decide about additional products or which photos to get?
It was so hard to narrow down choices for the Get Lucky book! My fiancé and I each made lists of our favorite pictures, and then we combined our lists to make the final selections. My fiancé had the final say, though, since the book is for him. I would have prefered to have included a few of the more artistic shots, but he was (understandably) all about the body pictures. I have yet to choose my 5 favorites to receive on a CD – there are too many good ones!
Why should other women do a boudoir photoshoot?
I’m finding this to be a difficult question to answer. It’s hard for me to say why any particular woman should do a boudoir photo shoot, since I can only speak for my experience. But I can say that I am not the type of person who would normally consider doing something like this. I’m a big fan of routine and consistency, and I generally stick to what I know. But every once in a while, I like to step out of my comfort zone and do something unexpected (and surprise my fiancé). And I definitely think I benefitted from the experience – it boosted my confidence, and it made me feel truly beautiful. So I guess that’s why other women should do a boudoir photo shoot – you’ll only be better for having done it!
