Manly Monday: An Introduction

Manly Monday: An Introduction

As part of Uncorked Studios weekly blog series, we are proud to introduce our Monday blog topic: Manly Monday.  A majority of wedding blogs are written by women and only shine a feminine light on the entire wedding process.  In response to these blogs we are introducing a weekly series written by a man, expressing a masculine point of view on nuptial proceedings.

Let me introduce myself.  My name is Travis and I am a proud founding member of Uncorked Studios and author of the “Manly Monday” blog series.  In regards to the “day-to-day” operations of the studio I am the studios technical expert, accountant, photographer, and voice of reason.  On a more personal note, I have an incredibly wide range of interests.  I am a season ticket holder to the Philadelphia Academy of the Arts Broadway Theater Season, and am an award winning ballroom dancer.  To balance the fore mentioned “less than masculine” interests; I also play on a nationally ranked paintball team, SCUBA dive with sharks, and am an avid pistol shooter.  I pride myself in my ability to sweep my wife off her feet with a romantic evening of dinner and dancing, while having the ability to shoot less than one-inch groupings at one hundred yards.

The idea for this blog is to address the male and female readers of the Uncorked Studio blog with the intention of reducing the stress and misunderstandings which occur during the wedding process. For our female readers, I hope to give you a glimpse behind the curtain of the male mind.  I understand men can be difficult, and often uncommunicative, yet my intention is for this blog to be a small guiding light during tumultuous times.  For our male readers I plan on bestowing the advice I wish was given to me while my wife and I were planning our wedding.
In the upcoming weeks here are some topics that I am planning on covering:
  1. Supporting Your Wife To Be
  2. The Wedding Dress
  3. Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties
  4. Family Dynamics
  5. The Honeymoon
I am always open to suggestions, so if there is any particular subject that you would like some advice on, or would like a male perspective please don’t hesitate to post a comment below or e-mail us.
