Lisa & Corey’s Wedding Day Highlights

The title of ‘Last Wedding of 2016’ belongs to the amazing Lisa and Corey! What a way to end 2016!

Corey’s parent’s farm holds a special place in Lisa and Corey’s relationship so there was no better place for Corey to get ready then his parent’s house. During the early part of their relationship Corey and Lisa would spend hours walking and driving around the farm exploring the natural wonders and fields. Surrounded by some of the funniest groomsmen (and lady) we have met in a long time, Corey got ready while overlooking a pair of gorgeous barns and rolling fields. After putting on his Jos A. Banks suit his party gathed in front of the picturesque red ford truck for some fun posed pictures. With his crew behind him, Corey stood (and sat in) the gorgeous truck while his groomsmen (and lady) relived the fun times they had together at the farm. Throughout getting ready and taking photos, Corey was calm cool and collected yet clearly excited. It was clear he was making sure to live in the moment, but you could feel all he wanted to do was see his fiancé. A couple of his guys (namely his brother!) rattled his chain and got the laughs going for the rest of the groom’s getting ready pictures.  This was just the start an amazing and fun filled day!

Lisa’s morning was a bit quieter if you compared it one to one with the guys. She arrived to Olde Homestead Golf Club with her hair and makeup completed by Ulta. She hung her Allure Bridal dress, from Jon’s Bridal by Suzanne on the designated dress hook in the bridal suite and shared mimosas with her birdal party as she waited for the opportune moment to finish dressing in her bridal gown for the first look with her husband-to-be. She was quite prepped for the day – she has two pairs of shoes, heels from Badgley Mischka and flats from Karl Lagerfeld Paris (a girl has to look good and a girl has to dance!). Her bridesmaids helped her put on her jewelry from Shanore from Donegal Square and Lisa was ready to see her Corey.

Did I mention it was a teeny-tiny-itty-bitty cold outside? Lisa and Corey didn’t mind. Lisa wrapped herself in her gorgeous fur shrug and took the walk from the Olde Homestead ballroom outside to the scenic overlook to tap Corey on the shoulder. He spun around and kissed her. He wrapped his arms around her and told her she was beautiful and he described how excited he was to marry her in a couple hours. He also admired Lisa’s gown – he also thought the best part of her gown was the beautiful lace and the buttons down the back. The almost-wed duo enjoyed the quiet private time together as we drove around the area finding scenic spots for photos. The variety of locations around Olde Homestead Golf Club is a photographers dream. Corey and Lisa took full advantage of the late afternoon light which gave a beautiful winter glow to their portrait session. I don’t think they even noticed the cold (though the “real feel” touched close to 13° by the time we retreated inside).

Lisa was escorted down the aisle by her father. The decorations in the ballroom were created by Lisa and her mother-in-law, Barb. Corey smiled and greeted his wife at the head of the aisle in front of their 96 closest friends and family members. Blace Reina officated the short and sweet ceremony (which left Corey’s brother in tears – I only mention this because he was teasing Corey pretty relentlessly in the morning during getting ready photos!). The bridesmaids looked stunning in their cherry Alfred Angelo gowns against the white ceremony draping. Within those five minutes the two promised their lives to each other and sealed their promises with a kiss. It was time for cocktail hour and time to party!

The ceremony space was quickly transformed into the reception hall and dance floor. Every center piece was hand crafted and each had similar elements but different charm. Each was set on a wooden slab with tones of reds, cranberries, and evergreen. There was a soft holiday ambience scattered around the ballroom, which felt quite perfect for a December wedding. Piece ‘a Cake provided the beautiful white cake with white sugar roses. The newlyweds table had a gold sequin table cloth with a bell that read, “Ring for a Kiss.” DJ Tony D from Holiday Sounds Disc Jockeys setup his booth near the dance floor.

What a great reception. The guys enjoyed a cigar bar outside in the cold December air while those who didn’t participate in a celebratory cigar danced the night away. The newlyweds cut their cake, but instead of smashing each other, they fed each other peacefully, and instead dabbed some icing on one of the ring bearer’s nose (he DID NOT enjoy that part, haha). Though there were less than 100 guests in the building, the dance floor felt like there were 200 people there! Such a great energy and a fun crowd! Check out some of the pictures from the Uncorked Studios Open Air Photo Booth to see all the good times!
