Poonam & Scotts’s Garba Highlights

By far the Garba is one of my most favorite events at a miulti-day wedding extravaganza!

For those who don’t know, a Garba is an Indian dance party that takes place before the wedding. Women and men preform many different types of dance steps in a circle. The steps are easy to learn and many attendees encourage newcomers to learn the steps are participate!

Poonam and Scott’s Garba took place at the Indian Cultural Center of South Jersey the Thursday before their big day..  A fun twist to their Garba is that they included Mehndi artists for guests. Poonam had her Mehndi done at a prior date and she had intricate designs along her arms that she showcased with her red sari along with her bridal choora bangles.

As guests arrived, Poonam and Scott greeted everyone single one with open arms. After guests arrived, the couple made their grand entrances into the event hall. Poonam and Scott both entered separately with their bridal party members as escorts. Both entered the room under a long piece of fabric. After a few performances and kind words, the bride and groom officially opened the dance floor for the remainder of the night with a dandy song.

Guests dined on an Indian and Italian buffet by Nimit Catering and enjoyed the lively dances. Poonam and Scott were full of smiles the entire night. It was such a perfect event to kick off their wedding weekend! Stay tuned for the next day was their awesome, amazing, gorgeous wedding which was an incredible blend of both Indian and western culture!
