Kathryn & Gregory’s Wedding Day Highlights

The smell of golden hops and barley filled the air… well, if you placed your head against the groom’s chest you could catch a whiff of it from his boutonnière!

We arrived to the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Hamilton township where Kathryn and her friends were getting ready for the wedding day. Face2Face Makeup Artistry and Blush Freelance finished early, so everyone was hanging out in the bridal suite anticipating the wedding day. Her Madison James gown, from Castle Couture, hung in the window sunning itself while Travis photographed her details. The bride had extra hops and barley, from Black Creek Hops, on hand for props in the photos as well as her Toms, ArtCarved wedding band, and Ansonia Veil (from Affordable Elegance Bridal). Craft beer is a big deal and a common interest for Kathryn and Gregory – errr Katy and Greg as their friends call them after sharing a pint!

As her family helped her get into her gown, he room was full of joy and laughter. She opened her gift from her future husband to reveal a lengthy letter and a beautiful Pandora bracelet which she eagerly put on to wear for her first look with Greg. Katy’s smile is hugely contagious and she was smiling non-stop as she read the kind words from Greg out loud to her bridal party and family. We had a few extra moments to snap a few photos of the bride by herself as her entourage gathered all their items to head towards the church. Perfect makeup and hair and perfectly flawless smile – this girl was meant to be a bride!

The guys arrived via school bus (Driven by Doc, a pal from Greg’s high school alma mater) to the hotel to pickup the bridesmaids and family while Kathryn took a private truck with some of her family members to the church. The ride to All Saints Church in Princeton was a bit quiet, Katy mentioned how excited and anxious she was to see Greg for their first look and to spend the rest of her life with him. Once we arrived, Katy made her way to the back of the church were Greg was waiting patiently with his back to her. He looked quite sharp in his DXL Destination outfit. Instead of a traditional black tux, Greg sported a check dress shirt and navy plaid vest – it was important to the couple that Greg’s personality was a part of their wedding outfits, just like Katy’s gorgeous gown spoke volumes about her (she defined it as, “it isn’t flashy, but it’s pretty”).

Greg’s first look reaction was a huge smile (to match Katy’s) and he gently pulled her in for a kiss before he inspected her entire wedding outfit. The smiled and laughed together for a few minutes before they took each other’s hands and strolled along the autumn leaves behind their ceremony church. Their wedding day was full of crisp autumn leaves, a warm breeze, and blue skies! How perfect!

Katy and Greg’s unplugged ceremony was greeted with warm light through the tall window at the front of the church. Katy made her way down the church aisle to stand with her smiling groom. Their ceremony was full of great readings from friends and family and a wonderful uniting ceremony. Katy and Greg shared hidden glances and smiles throughout the whole event and before they know it, they were kissing for the first time as husband and wife and exiting the church to head to Hamilton Manor for some bridal party photos and their reception!

Hamilton Manor has so many great rooms hidden throughout their floor plan. Katy and Greg’s reception took place in the Grand Ballroom. Dinardo Brothers Entertainment was setup and ready to rock the place as the newlyweds guests entered the ballroom and found their seats. Cocos Cakery had an amazing display of cupcakes and wedding cake setup in the corner of the room (seriously, I wanted to sneak and eat one of these chocolate peanut butter ones as guests were taking their seats… but I didn’t, I promise). The centerpieces were so fun with pinecones, a wooden tree slices, and rustic decorated beer bottles and florals from Designs by Linda Florist. A great autumn feel certainly greeted guests as they entered the Grand Ballroom at Hamilton Manor to dance the night away!

Katy and Greg, thank you so very very much for including us in your wedding celebration – we had a great time spending the day with you and your friends and family and we especially loved sneaking you two away at the reception to create some awesome night time portraits around Hamilton Manor!
