Poonam & Scotts’s Wedding Day Highlights

“So I really want Broad Street at night – can we take a private trolley ride to Broad Street from Vie while our guests have dessert?” Yes, yes you can!

One of the most iconic wedding photos that can be taken in Philadelphia is the moment when the couple stands in the middle of Broad Street with Philadelphia City Hall in the background. Though impressive in the daytime, we prefer to take this photo at night. There is just a romance that can’t be beaten with the soft glow of the city lights and an embrace from your new spouse.

Not to worry, when Poonam and Scott returned to their reception at Cescaphe’s Vie, their guests were still enjoying the amazing Viennese buffet that goes on and on as far as the eye can see! Prior to sneaking out of their reception, Poonam and Scott had already enjoyed their first dances, and impressive petal canon entrance, some touching toasts from friends and family, as well as an amazing dance set from DJ Ravi Jackson. That could be a full reception all by itself! But the newlyweds just wanted to dance, so dance they did!

DJ Ravi Jackson packed the dance floor and then invited Poonam’s cousin to guest DJ for a few sets. Her cousin is a pretty rad DJ from England, so it was a fun moment for the bride and groom to watch their family rock the dance floor in Philadelphia! It was a perfect way to end their wedding day!

But I’m sure you want their story from the beginning of the day.

Poonam and Scott both got ready at the Loews Hotel in Philadelphia. Poonam took over the bridal suite with her 3 bridesmaids, 2 junior bridesmaids, and some family members. Poonam’s hair, by Tiffani Dougherty, and makeup, by Cassie Sterling, gave her a bridal elegance to go along with her The Sample Rack Philadelphia gown and her “something borrowed” veil. Neha from Ask Neha Now was by her side all day to help with any little details and scenarios that a planner could take in stride!

Scott’s getting ready on the other hand was a more solitary affair.  When we arrived at his room, he was just finishing up a small nap as he mentally prepared himself for the rest of the day.  With a big smile which lit his face from ear-to-eary, Scott put on on his tuxedo tuxedo provide by Rudi’s Formal Wear,  After adjusting his tie, he put on the “piece de resistance”!  A brand new Tissot watch especially purchased for the wedding.  Like Scott, the watch was classic, timeless, and sophisticated.  Once ready he headed to city hall to see his “bride to be”!

Poonam stepped off the Philadelphia Trolley Works trolley in her Jimmy Choo heels onto the sidewalk at Philadelphia City Hall. She was more than ready for her first look with Scott. Scott waited patiently in the center of the courtyard. His bride strolled up to him and tapped him on the shoulder. His expression was pure joy when he turned to see her (the sky even let out a few drips of rain during their first look and I don’t think either one of them noticed!). Photo time with the bride and groom on the wedding day is precious to us at Uncorked Studios and the bride and groom gave us free reign of the city to use as their backdrop! Our choices were to make use of the courtyard at Philadelphia City Hall, Dilworth Park, and Rittenhouse Square. We then got to do one of my most favorite things to do at a Philadelphia wedding — photograph portraits the bride and groom at their venue, Vie!

After we arrived at Vie, the rest of the day went rather quickly. We did some portraits of the couple in Vie’s modern cocktail space and photos of their bridal party and family outside in the ceremony space. The bridal party attended a rehearsal of the ceremony and the bride and groom signed their marriage license with officiant Priya Navani. Poonam and Scott then walked down the aisle for their ceremony surrounded by over 200 of their family and friends.

The floral decorations by Beautiful Blooms brought a bright vivid and cultural flair to the ceremony and reception. TapSnap had a unique open air Photo Booth setup for guests to create memorable instant images for the bride and groom.  With careful consideration all of the pieces of Poonam and Scott’s wedding came together to form a colorful, warm, and exciting environment which captured both of their personalities perfectly.

We would like to thank Poona and Scott for incorporating us in their big day and can’t wait to see what the future has in store for this amazing couple.
