Michelle & John’s Wedding Day Highlights

Pretty sure most of our blog posts revolve around food and the weather – but seriously, this wedding had both an amazing food truck and dinner food and some pretty lucky weather for the newlyweds!

By lucky, I mean it was totally raining the morning of their wedding. BUT rain means luck when it comes to weddings (I believe if you can get past the rain on your wedding day, you can totally get through anything in your relationship!) and Michelle just let the rain roll off her shoulders as she got her hair and makeup done at Bellevue Salon and Spa in Philadelphia. The stylist place Michelle’s veil and she was ready to head back to her bridal suite at the Bellevue Philadelphia so she and her bridesmaids could share a champagne toast and open her gift from her husband-to-be before getting dressed.

Michelle’s dress from Claire’s Fashions hung on a specialty hanger against the mirror in the bridal suite. Though she wore jewelry from her Grandmother – she also proudly wore some new bling earrings from her husband-to-be! The highlight feature of her gown was probably the buttons down the back of the dress, they matched perfectly with the intricate lace and belt. Michelle’s bridesmaids wore their Allure gowns and helped her get dressed before she did a quick reveal to the two flower girls (hello adorable) and an emotional reveal to her Dad. Talk about a smile that can light up a room!

At the same time John was at the Double Tree By Hilton Hotel Philadelphia Center City hanging out with some of the funniest groomsmen I have ever met. As John put on his Collars n Cuffs tuxedo, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. Not because of saddness, but because everone was laughing so hard they couldn’t help but shed a few tears. Overlooking an incrediable view of the city, and between fits of laughter, you could tell John was truly happy and ready to marry Michelle. You could feel John’s anticipation along accompanied by a sense of calmness and joy. Once ready, the guys headed down to the lobby and hopped in their Limo Today limousine for the short ride to the church.

Saint Patrick’s Church was the place to be to celebrate the intimate ceremony with Michelle and John. The bride waited patiently with her father at the end of the long aisle. John is so tall, I feel that he could see Michelle over the heads of their guests long before she could see his face (Michelle, in case you’re wondering, he was smiling the moment he saw you!). His and Hers Productions much have caught a great video moment of John’s face as Michelle came into focus.

Once the “I-do’s” were said and the kisses were had, we did some family photos at the church before we ducked and covered out to Rittenhouse Square for a rainy day picture with the newlyweds. We elected it was a bit too rainy to complete all their portraits outside, so once we arrived to The Arts Ballroom we posed the bridal party in front of the sophisticated blue walls and on the impressive staircase in the Grand Hall. We made a game plan that once the food truck arrived later, we’d sneak out and capture a few moments on Broad Street with the newlyweds.

As Michelle and John enjoyed their cocktail hour with Feastivities Caterers, we photographed the details in the Grand Hall. The tables were adorned with centerpieces from OffShoots.  Vince from Impulse Entertainment really got the guests hyped as Michelle and John made their way down the staircase in the Grand Hall for their entrance into their reception. The couple shared a first dance together as well as with their parents. Toasts were given, and a plea for the Patriots to make the Superbowl to celebrate the newlyweds was topped off with Michelle receiving her very own custom football jersey with her new married name!

Philly Fry Truck made their grand entrance towards the end of the reception at The Arts Ballroom. No joke, these are some of the best french fries EVER. We took Michelle and John down the street a bit to get the very iconic “Broad Street Shot” and then we captured a very unique side street photo for them. Ironically, the street that runs next to the venue is South Watts Street – Watts is the last name of the John (and now Michelle)! Super cute for a photo opportunity!

Mr and Mrs Watts, thank you to the moon and back for having us as your photographers. We enjoyed every moment at your wedding and we really enjoyed playing in the rain with the two of you!
