Boudoir Mini Sessions... a tease?

Yep. I got to spend all weekend at the Philadelphia Loews Hotel photographing Valentine’s Day Boudoir Mini Sessions. It was amazing; full of beautiful women who were confident in themselves (and we had a blast!). I hope some of these women will let me share some of their photos on the blog, but we’ll probably have to wait until after Valentine’s Day to find out!

To celebrate such great sessions (and the fact that it was after all the bars in the area had closed), I ordered room service for dinner. It was late, and I worked hard all day, so I order an old favorite with dinner, a Beringer White Zinfandel.

I think I could drink this wine with everything. It’s a plushy, vibrant, pink, which make me feel really girly when I drink it. It is a sweeter wine, but no where near as candy-sweet as a moscato. This wine embodies everything I love about drinking wine, and is probably the root/cause of my wine fascination/addiction (the other encouraging factors being my husband and father-in-law!).

Beringer White Zinfandel tastes of red berries (mostly strawberries), citrus, and some melon; but the website describes that is it “rounded out” with hints of nutmeg and clove. Again, all perfectly delicious sounding descriptive words; this wine is my rock, my go-to, my absolute favorite.

When the tray food arrived to my room, I admired the adorable mini-ketchup bottles, then gulped down my cheeseburger (topped with cheddar cheese). For anyone who has never ordered room service, it is a little over-rated, but still fun. The fries were, of course, cold, but they were seasoned well. It was hand delivered to my room (Loews provides room service 24/7). Unfortunately one disappointment that was on my tray was the knife; it was dirty and I couldn’t use it to pry the ketchup out of the tiny bottles).

Cheeseburger gone. Fries gone. I haven’t yet drank my wine; haven’t even touched it. You see, with this particular wine, I know exactly what it tastes like, and I wanted to savior it at the end of the meal. The next course was the cheesecake.

Everyone always needs more <cheese>cake!

In case you were wondering, the cheesecake is NOT on the after-midnight room service menu. I had to ask special for it. Thank you Loews for providing fresh berries to enjoy with my cheesecake. I’m sure the whipped cream on top of the cheesecake looked pretty at one point, but by the time it arrived to the room, it looked like a melted blob; but it tasted great!

Now comes the wine. I saved it for my last course. Why? Because I put my pi’s on, turned the TV onto America’s Funniest Home Videos (probably an episode from early 2000!), and sipped my wine. What a perfect way to end a wonderfully productive day.

For anyone who is on the fence about wine, let Beringer White Zinfandel be your gateway wine. 🙂 It’s my absolute fav.
