Misty & Jameel’s Wedding Highlights

Talk about a wedding where everyone had amazing dance skills – Misty and Jameel your crowd has the moves!

They danced their way back down the aisle holding hands and celebrating their union as husband and wife. To the glorious cheers from their guests, Misty and Jameel tied the knot in April at the distinctive Franklin Hotel at Independence Park. Perhaps I am getting ahead of myself starting with their ceremony, but who could blame me? Misty’s smile was endearing as Jameel removed her veil to bestow their first married kiss. Right before this moment, the officiant pronounced them man and wife, the newlyweds brought their children up to the alter to share in a unity sand ceremony. The sand ceremony is such a great visual to share to symbolize the joining of family. Ah, I love it!

But if I had to start at the beginning it would be the moment when we walked into the Franklin Hotel bridal suite and started to gush over Misty’s Maggie Sottero bridal gown (purchased from Bijou Bridal). This dress had a train for miles and the most amazing ruffles (I believe the exact quote from the website is, “ravishing folds of opal organza”)! The soft sweetheart gave a space for the sparkly Macy’s necklace she picked out to wear.  Her feet were adorned with David Tutera designer shoes (which had matching bling to her necklace). Misty might have been most excited for her new kicks – a completely custom pair of Converse embellished with her new married name in purple. She deemed these her dancing shoes!

Antoinette Dowdy (make-up) and Marissa Fisher (hair) worked speedily together to get the ladies ready for Misty’s adventure down the aisle. As Misty waited patiently with her bridesmaids, Jameel hung with his sons and some of his groomsmen while each of them had a shave and a haircut in their room by a longtime family barber. His Gallelli Formal Wear tux hung ready for him as soon as he was ready. As he kept glancing out the window in his room, he certainly expressed his excitement to see his bride and all of their guests! He gave all of his groomsmen their gifts, and after they got dressed, the men’s side of the bridal party headed over to Second Bank for some great photo opportunities. Soon after the guys headed over, they retreated back to the Franklin Hotel so the women could have their turn for photos.

Misty was escorted down the aisle by her daughter and her father as she clutched her bouquet done by Overhill Florist. Jameel left his feet planted in place at the top of the aisle – but you could tell he wanted to run to her as soon as he saw her appear in the entryway! Franklin Hotel had scattered petals along the aisle for added elegance.  Her father handed her off to her new groom and the ceremony was underway! They exchanged their Steven Singer wedding bands and the two were officially wed.

The ceremony and the reception took place in the same ballroom, so the event staff at the Franklin Hotel did a room redressing as the guests enjoyed cocktail hour. Misty and Jameel had some quick family photos and portrait session before they were asked to line up to be announced for their reception. DJ Soul had the whole crowd up and dancing as the bridal party was announced into the ballroom. Their Bredenbeck‘s cake stood tall and proud on the corner of the dance floor (their cake topper was an adorable mini-recreation of the bridal and groom!). The dance floor was SLAMMED for the rest of the night! DJ Soul kept the crowd up and dancing (when did you guys have time to eat?!). The only time we saw the guests take a break was during the heartfelt speeches given by members of the bridal party. Overtime someone finished speaking, the newlyweds flanked the dance floor and hugged them as a thank-you for the kind words.

Misty and Jameel, thank you for taking us on your wedding adventure together, we wish you two the best and we can’t wait for you to enjoy your wedding photos! Check out the highlights below!

Cheers!
Travis and Jen
