Amber & Christopher’s Wedding Day Highlights
Amber and Chris traveled all the way from Seattle, Washington, to celebrate their love in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. They happen to choose one of the best times of year in Pennsylvania – autumn!
We woke up the day of their wedding, I looked our the window and I said, “hello gorgeous!” The leaves on the trees were glowing orange and yellow and, well, amber (sorry for the pun!). Jen headed over to Valley Forge Casino Resort to meet up with Amber and her bridal party. Tasha and Amy, from A2Z Designs, and Leah were busy busy busy primping and prepping all the ladies for the wedding day. The bridal suite was relatively quiet, but the women chatted about their wedding experiences and were eager to get Amber dressed and down the aisle!
Travis on the other hand, busied himself with the gentlemen. Instead of hanging out at the hotel, the guys decided they would have some fun at Arnold’s Family Fun Center with the Go-Karts and Laser Tag. The guys had a great morning unwinding, hanging out, and giving Chris some fun marital advice. The guys arrived back at the hotel with time to change into their tuxes and get ready for the ceremony.
Amber looked stunning in her corset backed dress with the sweetheart neckline. The fit-and-flare style flattered her body and showed up the amazing belt at her waistline. But honestly, who couldn’t keep their eyes off her stunning Jimmy Choos? Even in the hotel room they sparkled and caught your eye from beneath her dress. What a perfect way to splurge for your wedding day! Amber grasped her rose bouquet (with two hands) from Carl Alan Floral Designs and the women boarded the limo bus to be taken to the ceremony site.
The Washington Memorial Chapel is an amazing location for weddings – year round, but especially in the Fall. The leaves on the trees framed the stone church so picturesquely that we couldn’t help but do the first look with Amber’s Dad outside in the stone hallway. Both were on the edge of tears (she must be Daddy’s first born!). He escorted her down the aisle into Chris’ arms. Chris smiled warmly when he saw his future walk walk down the aisle towards them. It was cozy with all the guests inside the chapel. Father Almquist delivered a warm ceremony for their guests.
Post ceremony, we completed photos with the bridal party and the newly-weds around Valley Forge National Historical Park. We took the pair to some of our favorite locations inside the park and highlighted the specialness of their new marriage and the beauty of a Pennsylvania fall.
We delivered the pair back to the Grand Ballroom in time to enjoy some cocktail hour. The tables in the ballroom were decorated in roses. Tall roses, short roses, all kinds of lovely red roses! Even their Master’s Baker cake was dressed to the nine’s in roses! Synergetic Sound provided some great series for the couple – from music to the uplighting these guys were on fleck! Chest Pound Films captured the couple’s crowd-pleasing first dance (a little bit of stand and sway into a full out choreographed country line dance!).
Honestly, one of our most favorite moments from their day was when Chris pulled out his homemade light saber for the cake cutting. Music and all, it was super dramatic and a lot of fun!
