Stephanie & Kevin’s Wedding | DoubleTree Hilton & Mother of Divine Providence Church | Valley Forge, PA
Stephanie and Kevin met and attended Rochester Institute of Technology the same years that Travis and I went to school there! Though our paths never directly crossed on campus, the four of us came together in the great state of Pennsylvania early this year to discuss their upcoming wedding.
Even before our initial meeting, Stephanie and Kevin scrapped their original wedding day and decided to plan their wedding in less than three months! They elected to choose a wedding date that had personal meaning to the two of them rather than wait multiple months and plan a huge shin-dig.
I think they did a fantastic job with their few months of planning. Keeping it small made it very manageable and meaningful (and did I mention beautiful) for this pair to make their day everything they hoped it would be. Stephanie has given us a few words to share with future brides! So, read on!

How did you choose your theme? Flowers? and overall wedding design?
S: I am from the Southwest Louisiana, so I was hoping to bring a little bit of home up here. We chose the florist based on winning a raffle, she was awesome! I wanted Gerber Daisies and she did the rest within our budget. What is the overall wedding design? We had the essentials, cake, flowers, dress and church.
What was the best part of your wedding day?
S: Getting married to my best friend!
How would you characterize your wedding?
S: Very small with immediate family with the essential elements of a wedding
What was the most emotional moment?
S: I am not a crier except for a few rare occasions (Kev may disagree), but during the vows I choked up and was pumping myself up. “You can do this!”
Was there anything unexpected that happened at your wedding?
S: My shoe broke, remind Maid/Matrons to have superglue or a spare pair of shoes for the bride.
Did you splurge on anything that in retrospect was worth every penny?
S: I don’t think we splurged. We discovered what things cost and tried to find the best people who would fit with our personalities.
Why did you choose Uncorked Studios?
S: We found out about them through mutual friends. We had a consultation and they were very nice and flexible. The best part, they are RIT grads!!
What do you want to always remember from your wedding day?
S: How hot I looked! It isn’t everyday, I have make up on, nails done, non-frizzy hair, and in a dress!
“IF I only I knew!” what is one piece of advice you would give to brides planning their wedding day?
S: You can’t make everyone happy, once you are ok with this. Then planning is so much easier. If your mother is out of control, cancel everything and threaten to elope. Overall, she just wants to be there and involved a little bit.
Weddings are outrageously expensive, be sure to get as many quotes first , then see if it is within your budget before laying down deposits.
After looking at your photos and talking to people, did anything happen at your wedding that you are just now realizing?
S: After the whole thing, my sister revealed that she needed to know if the frosting on the cake is buttercream or fondant. Before dinner, she nicked the cake with the knife, she couldn’t wait till she had some on a plate or ask.
How did you feel after your wedding?
S: I am married? What does that mean?
Stephanie and Kevin, congratulations on your wedding and your future together! Let’s hit up a local RIT Alumni event soon?
