Tara & Ted’s Wedding Day Highlights

The black and gold invitation that was sent out says, “all you need is love,” and it was a great message to set the tone for Tara and Ted’s December wedding day!

Tara’s bridesmaids gathered around her at her parents house in matching Pink outfits as I Do Hair & Makeup prepped the ladies for the walk down the aisle. The bridesmaids laughed, told stories and shared champagne as the morning drifted away. Before Tara knew it, it was time for her sister and mother to help her into her wedding dress! Her dress, purchased from Bridal Garden, had fit and flare ruching and a simple corset back. Tara elected for a bit of bling on her veil which framed her face. Tara got dressed in the front room of the house (the one used only for special occasions) which was the perfect place to get ready for her wedding. The soft purples accented and warmed the complexion of the ladies in the room. I also took one of my favorite photos of the day – a silhouette of Tara getting laced into her gown. Once she slipped on her shoes, she did a first look with her Dad and bridesmaids before Albert’s Transportation whisked them away to the church!

As Tara was getting ready, Ted was hanging out with his guys at the Aloft in Mount Laurel. Surrounded by laughter, story telling, and many toasts, Ted and his band of men reminisced about the past while looking forward to the future. With the help of his brother, Ted donned his Men’s Wearhouse suit before heading down stairs for a few photos. In the lobby Ted greeted guests with hugs and smile while having a few photos snapped of him with each of his groomsmen and family. After a few more “hellos” and a quick game of pool (to settle the nerves), Ted was off to see his fiancé, and soon to be wife, for the first time.

The bridesmaids clutched their A Rose in December bouquets as they waited for Father Jorge Bedoya to start the ceremony. The beautiful stained glass at St Joan of Arc Parish illuminated the bridesmaids as they walked down the aisle in their Bill Levkoff dresses, from Irma’s Bridal. Ted stood stoically at the head of the aisle and waited for his bride to make her entrance.  As she walked towards her husband-to-be, the corners of Ted’s mouth turned into a smile. Tara kissed her parents at the head of the aisle and the ceremony began. The thirty minute church ceremony was the perfect length for some of Tara’s students that had come especially for the ceremony to support their teacher! After a quick round of family photos post ceremony, we made our way towards the Merion to catch up with the guests at cocktail hour!

Before releasing the newlyweds into their cocktail hour – we snapped a few photos on the iconic staircase in the lobby of the Merion. We also made use of their ballroom – the Skylight Ballroom – to create some stunning portraits of the newlyweds, their families, and their bridal party. Travis’ favorite photo of the couple was created in the long Grand Hallway. Tara and Ted coyly sneak peeks at each other as the arched ceiling frames them in along with the greenery. Since it was a bit cold outside in the December air, we had lots of fun exploring some of the nooks and crannies inside the Merion for some great portraits!

TnT joined their cocktail hour and we photographed the details that Tara had picked out for the wedding. The guests favors were these awesome little black towels with the newlywed last named and wedding date stamped on them. Once the reception started, DJ TJ Varano encouraged guests to wave them around in support of the party! It was a dance crowd! Once guests ate dinner and the cake was cut, everyone was out on the dance floor for the rest of the night (minus the time guests snuck out into the detail hour room to grab desserts off the dessert bar! There was a little but of everything!). TnT, thank you so much for including at you #IDoOnTwelveTwo wedding celebration. What a fun wedding to kick off the month of December!
