Christine & Edwin’s Wedding Day Highlights
Little did Christine and Edwin know that a night on the town with some friends would end up with them tying the knot in July 2017!
Christine and Edwin (Eddie) found themselves getting ready for their wedding day at the Sheraton Valley Forge hotel on a warm Saturday in July. As soon as we entered the bridal suite – Eddie was already surprising Christine with wedding day treats. Christine opened a letter and gift from her groom which left her in awe – a beautiful pair of diamond earrings to go with her wedding day attire.
As Christine and her girls were relaxing while having hair and make up done, we headed down to Eddies to snap a few images of him getting ready. He was “cool as a cucumber” as he hung out with his guys and swapped stories with his groomsmen. Once Eddie was dressed we had some fun with the groomsmen in the lobby of the Sheraton Valley Forge. Though they looked quite spectacular in their tuxedos from Men’s Wearhouse, my favorite part of their outfits was the matching socks. I absolutely adore it when men wear pink at weddings. They showed of their fun socks and we snapped a few images of Eddie solo.
Once Beke Beau and Evolution Salon finished the makeup and hair for the bridal party it was time for the bridesmaids to get onto their David’s Bridal gowns – Christine mixed up the look of their dresses by having each bridesmaid choose their own style and she alternated the shades of pink. I love the simplicity (and practicality) of Christine’s Jessica Simpson flats and I adore that her “something borrowed” was the veil from her matron of honor. Christine really allowed for the lace detail and the sparkle of her gown to be the show piece of her wedding day attire.
We knew we would be photographing many of their bridal portraits amongst the beautiful landscape of Valley Forge National Historical Park – so we elected to pick a very modern background for their first look. It was important for the newlyweds to have their parents, family, and friends there at the moment they saw each other for the first time. Though there were over 20 others present for their first look – the bride and groom seemed to disappear into their own world when Eddie turned around and saw his future wife all dressed to the nines in her Justin Alexander gown from L&H Bridal.. They could only describe this moment as “pure happiness.” With cheers from the crowd and a not-so-dry-eyed kiss, Christine and Eddie embraced before gathering up the crew and heading out to Valley Forge.
Christine and Eddie graciously gave us and Enchant Cinema two and a half hours to create beautiful memories around Valley Forge National Park. We cannot express how grateful we are to have this time on a wedding day to spend with our couples creating portraits and moments. Fortunately the newlyweds agree that you cannot put a price on these lifetime worth of memories and great venders to capture them! We really cannot say thank you enough for trusting us with helping you guys create a stress free schedule. More importantly, we had a great time and didn’t stop smiling or laughing for the two hours we had with Eddie, Christine, and crew. It was fantastic traveling through the park hangout and taking some awesome photos.
The exterior of Varnum’s Quarters become the first backdrop for images at Valley Forge National Historical Park. This historic farmhouse is down a short pathway and tucked away under some trees – and in the warm July sun the shade was much welcomed by the bridal party! Secrets Limousine Service was a perfect way to travel in style around the park for the multiple photo locations.
Another favorite location at the park is just off the main road. It provides amazing sweeping views of the park and helps show off the iconic aspects that Valley Forge is known for. The day was warm and it provided a light haze over the valley. Everything was lush and green and we took advantage of having a few private moments with just the bride and groom at this location. It is a joy to watch the two laugh and smile at each other and it is very clear they have the most fun when they are together.
Probably the most iconic location we visited at the park was the Memorial Arch. The clean lines of the arch and the expansive stone walkway around the arch make for a great area to photograph a large bridal party. It was a blast watching the bridal party laugh and joke with their friends – and everyone was a great sport about the ever-changing cloud cover.
We returned to the Sheraton Valley Forge with enough time for the almost-weds to kick up their feet and relax before they took the stroll down the aisle to be united as husband and wife. Shipley Enterprises draped the entire backdrop for the ceremony with white fabric and soft warm uplighting to add a romantic touch to the interior ballroom at the hotel. Coupe Flowers created large floral decorations that flanked the alter. The room slowly filled with 150 guests and Christine and Eddie stood in front of their family and friends and promised to spend their lives together.. Journeys of the Heart’s officiant Kipp Gilmore-Clough gave a warm and playful ceremony for the couple. It was wonderful to see all the smiles of their guests – to the bride and groom this was the best part of the day! They were surrounded by love as the bride and groom shared their first kiss and exited the ceremony to cocktail hour and the reception.
The newlyweds entered the reception ballroom to cheers! They were ready to enjoy their amazing perfect night full of fun with their guests. DJ Romeo from Schaffer Sound Disc Jockeys really got the crowd on the floor post dinner for some crazy fun dancing. A memorable part of the evening was during cake cutting when Christine took a fistful of their Isgro’s Pastries wedding cake and jammed it into Eddie’s face, covering his never ceasing smile in delicious cake and frosting. Hopefully Eddie is kind on their one year anniversary when they pull out their cake topper to share!
I don’t think Eddie had any hard feelings. Every slow dance during the evening he had his arms wrapped securely around his beautiful wife. I absolutely adore this pure love and joy that these two share together.
Thank You guys for including us in your celebration and we can not wait to see what the future has in store for both of you!!
