After learning about the fun that was to be had, Travis and I were so thrilled to receive a phone call asking if we were available to photograph a wedding celebration on August 17, 2013. This phone call was less than two weeks before Bobbi and Harvey’s wedding celebration at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown. The couple, who reunited after many years, originally went to Blue Mountain Camps summer camp together when they were children. Taking the path less traveled, Bobbi and Harvey elected to elope back in May and told their children via text message after the deed was done!
When we arrived at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown on Saturday morning, we were welcomed with open arms into their tight-knit family. The hotel suit was alive with activity as Bobbi, her two beautiful twin daughters Lizzy and Tracey, and a her fabulous mother, were fussed over head to toe with hair and make-up by Bella Angel. Harvey hung with the guys away from the hustle and bustle of the beauty routine and helped prepare the event space. The Philadelphia Marriott Downtown provided them the JW event space which has large windows that overlook Market Street in Philadelphia.
The event itself was a dinner with no official ceremony (with the exception of Harvey performing an impromptu Jewish wedding tradition of breaking of the glass during his toast). The event space at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown was filled with family, Blue Mountain Camps friends, and other close acquaintances. Good food and drink were enjoyed while the room filled with conversation.
