Liza & Michael’s Wedding Day Highlights

Liza and Michael’s relationship started out as friends and turned into two young people falling in love with each other.  They are truly smitten with each other and enjoy adventure and spending time together.  Perhaps my favorite part of their Riverdale Manor wedding day was being privy to the note (Titled ‘Fun Facts About our Honeymoon Destination!) Michael gave Liza with the clues depicting where they were to go on their honeymoon. Clue #1 – “the — have a subtropical warm weather climate year-round.”

Hmmm, figure it out yet? Clue #2 – “This island hosts the second most popular and stunning carnival in the world.” Well, so far I know it’s an island!

Liza and Michael assembled their bridal teams at the Cork Factory Hotel. Their official bridal party was small (best man and maid of honor), but each had family and close friends getting ready in the hotel room with them.  Shannon did the ladies make-up while Liza paced around the hotel room waiting nervously awaiting to depart for Riverdale Manor. The two had decided to wait out the anticipation and see each other for the first time down the aisle.

Upon arriving at Riverdale Manor, the guys headed to their suite, and the ladies to theirs, where Liza was corseted into her in her textured Maggie Sottero gown. She was a sight! Both Mom and Dad couldn’t help but take photos of the gorgeous bride while we waited for the ceremony to start.  Guests strolled down a grassy pathway to the ceremony site tucked nicely away in an old barn foundation. Bagpipes escorted Michael down the aisle where officiant Dave DiRaddo waited to marry the couple. Michael, dressed in J. Crew,  couldn’t keep his eyes of Liza and she was walked nervously down the aisle by her father.  She carried her bouquet of flowers created by Sandra Porterfield. After they exchanged written vows and jumped the broom, Michael and Liza were pronounced husband and wife (and one step closer to their honeymoon destination – Clue #3 – “The island consists of seven large and several smaller islands, all of which are volcanic in origin.”)

Guests were treated to cocktail hour on the terrance which Liza and Michael enjoyed Uncorked Studios portrait time down by the water on which Riverdale Manor is located.  Large trees and soft grass provided a perfect rustic backdrop for their photos.  The cocktail hour moved quickly, and soon the newlyweds were introduced to their guests at the reception where they danced the night away with Hurricane Productions.  They shared a first dance, cut their Byers Butterflake Bakery cake, and dodged the raindrops during their reception.

After 4 additional clues, I didn’t know where they were going on their honeymoon either… I guess you’ll just have to ask Liza where they spent 10 days in luxury!
