Heather & Roberts’s Engagement Session Highlights

From trolley tours to light houses to whale watching to victorian homes to the most perfect seaside charm – how on earth do you narrow down the locations you want to photograph in Cape May, New Jersey? Heather and Robert took on that task for their engagement session.

You could say we narrowed down the locations, though we did visit quite a few on our brief 2-hour engagement session tour. We started at the brand new band stand located in Rotary Park. Heather envisioned taking photos at this location since she found out that it would be opening day for the newly constructed building. She talked about how exciting it would be to tell their grandkids that they were the FIRST to have photos taken at the famous bandstand. I love that this cute duo is already picturing their lives together many many years later.

Of course we visited the Washington Street Mall – there are over 100 locally owned shops along this stretch! It’s such a unique aspect of Cape May that we couldn’t skip photos here. Robert even bought some ice cream to “share” with Heather – we’ll let you insert your own definition of “sharing” here, lol. For a Friday afternoon it wasn’t super crowded along the charming brick pathways, but we did manage to find many tourists wishing the almost-weds many congratulations.

Next stop was Congress Hall. This historic hotel was built in 1816 and is a perfect backdrop for photos. This place celebrates sophistication and warmth – two elements which we wanted to capture in Heather and Robert’s engagement photos. We captured a handful of photos in the famous rocking chairs that overlook the Grand Lawn. I’m pretty sure we could have photographed their whole session at this hotel alone.

After a quick outfit change, we strolled along the Cape May beach. It was easy to see that it was going to be a ridiculously amazing sunset. The sky glowed with oranges and warmth as the engaged duo laughed and strolled together in the sand. My favorite moment was when Robert gave Heather a little twirl on the beach and the two burst into laughter. These two have so much fun together I think they forget about everyone else around them sometimes and disappear into a world of their own.

We are so excited for your wedding and we cannot wait to see you two again soon! Please enjoy the most perfect summer beach engagement session!
