Holiday Spectacular at Bethlehem Christmas City

When scheduling their engagement session Kelly and Tom figured, the best location to contrast their Hawaii destination wedding would be to photograph their engagement session in December during Christmas City in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Uncorked Studios couldn’t agree more, so we bundled up, packed our gear, and headed to Christmas City right before the holidays and photographed their engagement session!

We gathered together in downtown Bethlehem at the height of Christmas City to photograph the engaged pair among the snow and christmas lights.  If you’ve never taken the excursion to Christmas City, it was well worth it and such a cute experience. The streets were lined with local craft venders and the permanent store locations were completely decked out in decorations to display the Christmas City spirit.  Tom and Kelly snuggled together to stay warm on the brisk afternoon as we toured the Downtown Bethlehem area. Though the streets were packed with shoppers, we were able to find quiet areas to capture their photos with few distractions.

All of us agreed that we shouldn’t go overly Christmas City themed; the idea was more to capture the romantic crisp winter scene from the afternoon, into the evening, and a few photos capturing the beautiful main drag in Bethlehem.

It’s fun to have such a difference between the photos from your engagement session and the photos from your wedding.  Sometimes engagement photos capture closer to real “every day” life while the wedding photos capture the fairy-tale aspect of all relationships.  Enjoy a peek into Kelly and Tom’s Christmas City engagement session!
