Mindy & PJ’s Engagement Session Highlights
Who knew that Hurricane Sandy Irene would be the start of something beautiful for two young Saint Joseph’s University kids back in 2011. Postponing the start of classes (and a little help from Irene and PJ’s roommates) meant that Mindy and PJ could meet and hit it off – it sounds just like the start of a rom-com, doesn’t it?
This duo’s session took place in Old City Philadelphia because it is their old neighborhood! Just like most couples, Mindy and PJ were a bit nervous at the start of their engagement session, but I think the feeling melted away pretty quickly.
” We appreciated how lighthearted Uncorked made our session. Instructing us to whisper jokes to each other or making us laugh helped us relax and feel more comfortable as people walked by and stared. We were very comfortable by the end and really enjoyed ourselves.”
PJ loves Mindy’s sense of humor, her willingness to help others, and her red hair.
Mindy loves PJ’s sarcasm.
But only sometimes. Haha.
She also loves his ability to make her laugh at all times and his caring heart.
” We met and instantly became really great friends. Once we knew that our friendship was for life, we fell really hard for each other and have fallen more in love every day we’ve been together.”
I love the most that they did their engagement session on their (pretty darn close) negative one wedding anniversary.
We couldn’t have finished their Philadelphia engagement session at a better location – the Race Street Pier. After a chilly December day in 2017, PJ romanced Mindy with a day of activities all around their city. ” We started by walking around City Hall, ate lunch at the Little Lion, had a beer at the RiverRink Winterfest, and then walked over to Race Street Pier. We walked to the end of the pier and PJ got on one knee and proposed! Our friend was hiding around the corner and walked up to take pictures of us right after the proposal, and we ended the night at the Flyers game with close friends.”
The Race Street Pier in Philadelphia is one of our most favorite locations to photograph. It also yields our couples most favorite images!
The funniest moment of the session was when we rounded the bend at the end of the Race Street Pier to find a huge yoga class in session on this beautiful evening. “PJ and I were slightly embarrassed when we walked towards the end of the pier and saw a huge yoga class staring directly up at us while we took the last pictures, but we look back on that moment and can’t stop laughing. We were posing in front of a huge class stretching and doing yoga poses and it was just hilarious.” Don’t worry guys, we didn’t include them in any of your photos!
And though the pair insist the only thing they did to prepare for their engagement session… ” “We woke up like this -Beyonce” ” Hmmmm…. we doubt you slept in your outfits. Mindy wore a white top from TJ Maxx, olive pants from Old Navy, shoes from Target! PJ wore oxford shirt from Polo, Levi jeans, and Florsheim boots…. buuuuut we are glad to know that the two of you had a fun time. ” It’s a great opportunity to learn how to be comfortable in front of a camera and take direction! It’s also a great way to get to know your photographer – we had a great time getting to know Jen and Travis!”
The yoga class didn’t prevent us from getting this epic image either!
We’re seriously excited to snag all the photos of the two of you spending the evening on the dance floor with your friends and family in September 2019. Mindy, we’re also pretty stoked to see you wear that ” Feyonce” shirt one last time because you two have such an amazing future planned together (another dog, buying a house, starting a family – ahhh!!!!) and we cannot wait to see you two to officially say ‘ I-do!”
