Lauren & Dominic’s Wedding Day Highlights

Smiles are really really contagious! Pure happiness surrounded Lauren and Dominic on their July wedding day. I cannot find a photo from their wedding day where their faces are not smiling!

Lauren’s day started at the Hilton DoubleTree Valley Forge. Her seven bridesmaids and family members giggled right along with her as they told stories of how they met and sipped champagne as  True Beauty Marks got each of the women ready for Lauren and Dominic’s big day. Lauren’s Dad even snuck in on the fun and came into the bridal suite just to pin butterflies in Lauren’s hair. The soft pink tones of the bridesmaid’s dresses, from JJ’s House, complimented Lauren’s fit and flare wedding dress from The Wedding Pavilion at Van Cleve. Just prior to getting into their gowns, the women had a bit of fun by jumping on the large hotel bed and telling secrets under Lauren’s “something-borrowed” wedding veil.

The guys morning was similar, but different (no wedding veil to tell secrets under). I believe there were just as many drinks and stories to go around. The guys had a few good laughs as Dominic and his guys got dressed in their Men’s Wearhouse tuxes. Dominic took the time to tie every single bow-tie for all the guys in the bridal party. Pretty sharp looking crew! The guys snapped a few photos outside in the almost-wed’s backyard under the pergola (decorated by Lauren). They grabbed their flasks (such an awesome groomsmen gift!) and loaded onto the party bus, by Celebrations Limo Service, to head to Valley Forge National Historical Park for the first look and pictures.

My favorite part of their wedding day? Hands down, their first look. There is nothing more perfect than watching the almost-weds see each other and connect for the first time on their wedding day. My favorite photo is the one where they are both wiping their eyes because they both started to cry! There is so much excitement surrounding these emotions on the wedding day. Lauren and Dominic managed to stay smiling even through all the tears! The almost-weds received many cheers of excitement as they boarded the party bus to continue through Valley Forge National Historical Park for more photos.

The bridesmaid’s bouquets from Petals Florist complimented the backdrop of Valley Forge Park and the dresses perfectly. Though we stopped at a few places to photograph, my favorite location was the large empty grassy field. Lauren and Dominic looked like they could have just stayed and strolled through the field together. This pair seems to have fun no matter where they go. Their bridal party personalities really harnessed the good nature of this to-be-wedded pair and all the goodness that surrounds them.

Once we arrived back at the hotel, there was time for a quick make-up touch up and it was time for Lauren to be escorted down the aisle by her father. The two exchanged their own vows in front of 160 guests inside the ballroom at the Hilton DoubleTree Valley Forge. Family members also shared hand picked poems before the newlyweds shared their first kiss and exited the ceremony space. All the surprises were not quite done yet though! Dominic presented Lauren with a gift of a second wedding band and she presented him with a surprise Star Wars groom’s cake! Such fun!

As the newlyweds enjoyed cocktail hour, the staff at the Hilton DoubleTree Valley Forge quickly transformed the ceremony space into the reception space. Everything in the ballroom was white, until the staff turned on the special mood lighting which cast a purple glow upon the ballroom. Their Bredenbeck’s Bakery cake had hints of pinks (just like the bridesmaid dresses) and a cake topper of a bride and groom dipping. Jimmy, from East Coast Event Group, had the music pumping and gave the newlyweds and their guests an awesome beat to make a grand entrance into the ballroom.

What a reception. Some highlights included cutting two cakes (one involved a little bit of cake smashing), a garter retrieval that needed a headlamp and best man backup, some super sweet slow dances, and overall just a huge party crowd with an amazing group of people! Lauren and Dominic, you really kept us smiling your entire wedding day – you two are absolutely amazing and we wish you all the best!
