The scene: Sun setting over the mountains as two say, “I do”
Bear Creek Mountain Resort is a splendid setting for a wedding. Though they cater to skiing and outdoor winter activities, September is a beautiful month to get married at this resort. JJ & Rob set their ceremony to be perfectly timed to the sun setting over the mountain as they said their vows. This plan was among the many personal touches JJ crafted for their wedding day. Hair (Alexa Quiroga) and make-up (Whittney from Allusions) were done in the elegant owners suite at Bear Creek Mountain. This room is h-u-g-e with spectacular views of the mountain. Amidst the hustle and bustle of the getting ready, JJ had personal touches scattered throughout the suite. Little notes she had kept from her bridesmaids, gifts for the VIPs of the day, individually crafted boxes for each bridesmaid, and love trinkets – just to name a few of the items! Everything was DIY – but DIY to very high levels of craftsmanship.
JJ slipped into her off-white colored gown and had her very own surprise to see her groom had penned her a love note on the bottom of her Toms. “May these shoes guide you gracefully into my arms so our love can burn eternally.” The shoes did guide her down the aisle, but not before her two grandmothers, escorted by her grandfather, showered the aisle with petals and two young friends carried signs that playful said, “Last chance to run because… here comes the bride.” JJ looked radiant as she carried her bouquet by Murphy & Klein Floral Studio and smiled at her beau as she walked arm and arm with her father. Pennstrings Ensemble played in the background to complete the atmosphere.
JJ & Rob literally tied the knot as the sun came down over the mountains behind them. (with rope! really, check it out!)
The photos were a whirlwind before the new mr and mrs were ushered off to the reception to party with their 200 guests. Their ballroom was decorated to the nines with custom decor created by the bride (I’m sure with enough comments we can convince her to open her own etsy store to help complete your vision!). DJ Rockin’ Ramaley completed JJ and Rob’s first dance with the concept of dancing on a cloud. I believe “wow” is the only word I can use to describe it. The tables in the Bear Creek reception room held beautiful centerpieces by Murphy & Klein Floral Studio, linens by Dream Events, and table names crafted by the bride and groom. Each table was a street name dedicated to a major minor event in their lives together.
My favorite sign from their day? “A True Love Story Never Ends.” Please enjoy their wedding day highlights!
