I think the one word to describe this weekend is, “WOW!” This crew certainly knows how to throw an event. You may remember Ami and Anthony from their cross Philadelphia Engagement Session from back in May and their unique engagement story (caught on camera at Philadelphia City Hall).  This blog is dedicated as a quick highlight their three-day Indian/American wedding celebrations.

Ami and Anthony began their three-day event started Thursday, October 17, 2013 with an intimate henna ceremony.  Friday, Ami donned a white gown and we ventured to the Philadelphia City Hall and The Twisted Tail in Philadelphia to celebrate “American-stlye.” The afternoon kicked off with Ami and Anthony’s first-look in the center of Philadelphia City Hall, followed by a lovely ceremony performed by Mayor Nutter inside one of the gorgeous meeting rooms. We then trekked to The Twisted Tale for a dinner full of great music, good friends and family, and comfort food.  Saturday started very early (especially for Ami who started getting ready before 5am!) at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott.  A white horse (named Julie!) helped welcome Anthony for the baraat (wedding procession). The Indian ceremony was filled with many fun traditions (I’ll explain some of them in our next post!) and it is clear that Ami and Anthony are very much in love.  After a quick outfit change, the pair prepped for their cocktail hour which included a surprise visit from the Nittany Lion as well as caricatures by CAPA students.  The bridal party kicked off the reception by delighting the 440 guests with a Bollywood style first dance. Good dinner, drinks, dancing, and a Photo Booth were enjoyed by all.

I’m really not sure how I managed to sum up three days of festivities in one paragraph. Please check out some highlights from their big weekend and leave them some love in the comments!

Congratulations Ami and Anthony! (and stay on the edge of your seats for more sneak peek videos from their amazing weekend!)
