Shanon & Tony’s Wedding Day Highlights

How much more romantic can it get besides having big fluffy snowflakes fall as you’re surrounded by your family and friends? Valentine’s Day just seals the deal on this wedding extraordinaire!

The Grand Ball Room at the Valley Forge Casino Resort set the stage for Shanon and Tony’s Valentine’s Day ‘I-do.” Not that this is where the day started, but it is really one of the first things I must mention. A long, white, custom created runner tied the ceremony space together with long white draped fabric creating the sides of the aisle. The chairs angled off the aisle and were towered over by white calla lilies. Pin lights and blue uprights brought color and life to the space – it was easy to image the bride and groom saying their vows in a just a few hours.

Bella Angel’s hair and make-up was crazy amazing and had all 7 of the bridesmaids done and looking stunning on time. They sat back and reminisced how they met the beautiful bride – which resulted in a few tears, and a few explanations of, “no way!” Before we knew it, it was time to get Shanon into her white fit and flare Alfred Angelo gown, and the bridesmaids into their festive red dresses. It was a truly romantic site to see the girls in red with their bundle of calla lilies ready to trek down to the ballroom to watch the pair wed.

Shanon was escorted into the ceremony with her two daughters as the Cherrywood String Quartet played.. Tony grinned from ear to ear when he saw her, and made way to meet her halfway down the aisle to accompany her on the rest of her journey to the alter. Their ceremony was short and sweet, performed by Reverend Phillip Sciscione, with the couple sealing their “first fight box” (complete with wine and chocolate and handwritten letters). Their vows were sealed with a kiss and they walked hand in hand (showered in rose petals!) out to start their receiving line.

We’d been hearing bits and pieces of how the reception space was going to look, and it really was an amazing site to see. Guests defended the staircase in the Waterford Ballroom into a candle lit, red uplight room with towering rose ball center pieces. Not a single detail had been spared – from the ice sculpture, to the Love escort cards, to the bountiful of scattered rose petals – the Waterford Ballroom was truly transformed into a Valentines Day wonderland. The cake from Master Baker sat high and proud on the stage encircled with lit tea candles.

The evening quickly escaped away with the sounds from Scratch Weddings, mingling with guests, and delicious food. Toasts from the bride’s daughters and the best man really set the mood for the evening – a few jokes and jabs, but really heartfelt and shared joyful tears. It is such a wonderful part of our job to watch families unit and really come together in marriage. To complete this totally sweet Valentine’s Day wedding, the Candy Lady had a candy buffet for guests to take home as a reminder of the amazing day.

Thank you to the newlyweds for including us over the past two years on your amazing journey – we are so happy to call you two friends!
