Neha & Jithin’s Sangeet Highlights

Can we say it’s time to par-tay??? Neha and Jithin told us that Friday night would be full of so many photographic moments that it would be hard to narrow the photos down for a highlight reel because their friends and family would be dancing ALL NIGHT.  Well, that statement came very very true!  The Sangeet is a celebration full of laughter, dance, and music and Neha and Jithin’s was executed perfectly.

During the Sangeet, the bride and groom are showered with affection via dance, music, stories, and laughter by their wedding guests.  Wedding guests come to this celebration which takes place before the wedding so they can get to know one another before the families are joined in marriage.  The couple decided to hold their Sangeet at the same location of their wedding; the Philadelphia Airport Marriott (you might recognize it from Ami and Anthony’s wedding from last fall!).  This was perfect for planning purposes because the party was to go until 11:00pm and Neha had to be awake very early the next day for hair and make-up for the wedding!  Neha’s friday afternoon was filled with head to toe pampering and styling by Heena Das Makeup.

Though there was no “official” first look photos for friday; this was arguably Jithin’s favorite dress that Neha was to wear for their wedding celebrations.   Keep an eye out for the photo of the skirt completely flared out; this was no easy task! Neha’s favorite parts to this particular gown were the bodice and the back of the dress with the crystal work.

The sangeet room was decked with blues and pinks. The walls were showered with uplighting and the stage was draped with luscious fabric. The design for this event was imagined by Neha and Jithin but coordinated and brought to life by Elegant Affairs. The evening began with a quick “cocktail” hour while guests arrived and then we were treated to two kickoff performances by Jithin’s nieces.  The guests were then introduced to family of both the bride and groom through performances and also friends chipped in to entertain the crowd. Both Neha and Jithin snuck in surprise dances for one another.  I’m pretty sure both of them teared up  while they watched their fiancé(e) dance!

Once the official performances were complete, the food stations opened and the night was full of bollywood, indian, and american dance music brought to us by DJ Gaurav.  Such a fun night watching Neha and Jithin’s friends, family, and guests gather to dance the dance the celebration before the marriage!
