Michelle & Evan’s Wedding Day Highlights

Candy candy everywhere and ALL of its to eat!

Can I start with how excited this duo was to tie the knot? They’ve been planning their wedding day for at least two years and I think they spent two years planning all the types of candy and cookies and awesomesauce that they were going to include on their end of the evening guest favor. My personal favorite were the dark chocolate raspberry filled candies – so delicious.

But I’m clearly getting ahead of myself. It might be because every aspect of Michelle and Evan’s wedding day had extensive thought and handmade touches involved. We arrived to the bridal suite to the ladies drinking out of custom glasses (complete with their individual names). There were cookies decorated with wedding touches and the Michelle’s mother was finishing the guest seating chart (an antique window with each guest’s name written out – in perfect handwriting). The finishing touches were 5×7 prints from their engagement session framed within the window panes.

With hair and makeup complete (Michelle’s look completed by Alisha Nycole Makeup Artistry, the ladies made their way over to William Penn Inn so they could get dressed and get Michelle to her first look on time. We photographed Michelle’s Maggie Sottero gown from Arielle Bridal inside the ballroom at William Penn Inn. Michelle’s bridal look was complete with her mothers wedding veil, Badgley Mischka shoes, and jewelry by Jason & Co. Michelle’s bridesmaids helped her get dressed and they looked stunning in their Bill Levkoff gowns from Party Dress Express.

At the same time, and right down the hall, Even started to get ready. Let me tell you, Evan is one cool cat. Not only is he a nice guy whose wit and subtle humor makes everyone laugh, he is also one hell of a guitar player. As he put on his suite you could tell he was a little nervous (I would be too since I saw Michelle earlier and she looked amazing!) however, his fantastic groomsmen were there to lighten the mood and put a smile on his face. Once the tie was tied, and the shoes were laced you could tell Evan was ready in his Tuxedo by Sarno. He had his “game face” on and was ready to see his stunning bride.

Michelle waited patiently under an arbor for her groom to arrive. It was a perfect place to wait as it gave Evan a long straight walkway to greet her and she looked radient in her blush dress. The crew from 4LC Studios took advantage of the open sky behind the William Penn Inn and captured their first look via drone! Evan brushed away tears as he approached his bride and greeted her with an embrace. Probably my most favorite moment all day!

Before we knew it, it was time to head off to St. Alphonsus Parish. Evan went by car, but Michelle and her ladies shared a ride in a gorgeous party bus provided by Secrets Limousine Service. Michelle was whisked into the church and almost immediately took her walk down the aisle towards her future husband. The church was lit by a giant window in the ceiling and was setup with pews surrounding the alter. The pair elected to have a completely “unplugged” wedding ceremony, which means they requested that photos and media only be captured by the professionals so their guests could fully immerse themselves in the ceremony experience. And after two years of planning, Father Stephen Leva officiated and they sealed their vows with a kiss and became husband and wife! They marched out to music play on the organ by Father Stieber.

The rest of the evening seemed to fly by! The newlyweds joined their guests at cocktail hour before they surprised everyone at the reception with a choreographed first dance (complete with dip!). Synergetic Sound & Lighting were on hand to get the crowd up and dancing throughout the night. The evening wasn’t complete without their epic candy bar and of course sneaking out of the reception for some late night pictures with the sparkling lights all around the William Penn Inn property. There was just enough chill in the air that you could see Michelle’s breath when she leaned in for a kiss with her new husband.
